Abstract

  • In July 2023, a combined six cities in Central Java experienced inflation of 0.20 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.09. Of the six CPI cities in Central Java, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Surakarta City at 0.31 percent
  • The main cause of inflation in July 2023 is the increase in the prices of air transportation, garlic, purebred chicken meat, purebred chicken eggs and red chilies. The main restraints to inflation were falling prices for shallots, cayenne pepper, oranges, tomatoes and cell phones.
  • The July 2023 calendar year inflation rate is 1.54 percent and the inflation rate year on year (July 2023 against July 2022) of 2.86 percent
